Elliptical Workout

There is only one way to lose weight, and that is to workout. Run around and sweat like a pig for a few minutes before collapsing into a heap, or there is this other way…
The almighty elliptical workout! It’s not as exciting as sweating profusely and having asthma attacks, but it has the same desired effect. Whether that effect is losing weight or gaining muscle, or both, an elliptical trainer can do that for you.

First thing’s first; get on an elliptical. If you don’t own one then buy one, or go down the gym. To buy one they cost from $300 upward, but gym standard ones cost at the minimum of $1000. Okay, step two. You have an elliptical ready and you’re wearing your revealing skin-tight shorts and fresh deodorant, with a towel over your shoulder; you look the part, bro.

You can skip step two, it’s more of a vanity thing.

Step three, stick your feet in the foot holdings (with trainers) and hold the handles.
It’s very straightforward to understand, start walking like you naturally would whilst pushing back and forth with the handles. You will get the hang of it almost instantly. If you want, you can change the stride length on most machines, and the resistance to suit you.

Benefits to an Elliptical Workout

Elliptic workouts are mainly for cardiovascular exercise, because they are not hard on any muscle (unlike doing weights). This helps with reducing cholesterol, and arguably is the best way of burning calories. You can tone your muscles, slightly hypocritical of me, but not as much as other forms of exercise. By adjusting the stride lengths and resistance amount, it can concentrate on certain leg muscles more than others.

Cardiovascular exercises on ellipticals are for both fitness veterans and beginners, because they are so easy and effective to use.

If you are on a more expensive machine then you can use some of the in built programs they offer. This can make the stride length change, the resistance harder or softer and speed up or slow down through the workout.

The best way in my opinion to do the workout though, is to just go at a comfortable pace for as long as possible, and then some. Continue this or a specific program as often as possible for the best results.

This Feels So Natural

The elliptical workout is different than other workouts such as using a running machine because it has less impact. The design of the machine is so that when using the machine it feels so natural and smooth that you can do it for an extended amount of time. This is why it is great for overweight people who struggle to exercise.

Another great feature of an elliptical workout is that you can pedal backwards as well as forward, which targets different muscles and can give variety in your training.

An elliptical workout is great for a smooth enjoyable way of burning calories extremely fast. For the veteran and beginner user, you can gain a lot from these machines.
