NordicTrack Elliptical
NordicTrack offer high tech, expensive machines suitable for a gym. The company offers three different types of cross trainers; front driven, back driven and centre driven. They all have advantages and disadvantages.
The front driven elliptical are smaller than the back driven, it also looks better and feels spacier. The back driven ellipticals are more inexpensive than the other types, but look bulkier and less aesthetically pleasing. The centre driven cross trainers is the most compact type, they also look safer and the user will feel more secure while using it due to the side bars.
Older Models
However if you look at some of their older equipment, you can get yourself a trolley and go down the bargain isle. Professional (yet aged) elliptical available from roughly $400, which is more than good enough for a home gym.
For The Taller Folks
Their more expensive range has 18 to 22 inch stride generally, but they do have a couple that can go up to 35 inches if you wish. I would not recommend if you are shorter than 5 foot 6 as you may not be able to stretch that far! It does give a smoother ride for the taller people though.
