Elliptical Reviews
For the best price, the best product, and the best performance you need to read the reviews. A review gives the real, blunt picture, and then rubs it in your face just in case you don’t get it. Ellipticals especially, as there are so many brands out there making them, have a lot of professional reviewing websites.
So if you would like to know the truth, take the review pill. If you would like to keep living a lie, take the salesman pill.
You have chosen the review pill, please step this way. First of all, if you want an amazing elliptical and don’t have $1000 - $5000 to spend, then you can either pay in monthly instalments, or get a gym membership (recommended). If you are a gym looking for ellipticals, then keep reading.
When you know your budget, you can start looking around at the cross trainers available in your range. While you work out your price, let me just lead by example.
As the least you can realistically pay is $200, I’m going to go slightly up and settle for $350 as a maximum budget. Now let’s see what we have here.
Now you have your budget, let’s find the brands available for your budget. Through an online search and a forum I found that Weslo, Stamina, and Schwinn offer ellipticals on a budget. You could also search reviews from magazines to find product labels.
Findings
After researching some products offered by the companies, I saw that Weslo offer a nice little elliptical called the Momentum 630. This is very basic, but for $250, push button resistance and two built in workouts it’s not bad.
Now, to put it to the review test:
The first review I saw was the one on their official website. They said it was overall good, but the stride is quite small. They were ‘pleasantly surprised’, that’s a good sign then. The next review I saw was on a professional elliptical review site. He basically didn’t give any reason for why it was bad, but said you couldn’t buy an elliptical that would work longer than a week for that price. Unreasonable, unreliable source.
I then went to a review site with more constructive feedback, they said this elliptical is wrong in many ways, the feet are too far apart, it’s unreliable, it rocks from side to side. They then pointed me towards something more suitable.
A good tip for gaining information from reviews, if you find a review very detailed in knowledge about the product, then most of the time you should take their advice too.
I was pointed towards an elliptical called the HealthRider C550e. It sounds great in their opinion, although the price is $100 more than my budget. Going to other sites about this product via a web search, I found it is a well-rounded product and everyone who has reviewed it has liked it.
Now, through my workings, you can base your researching and review findings on this to find the perfect elliptical for you. Don’t get ripped off, read the reviews!
